This decision was made during a State Executive Committee meeting held in Awka, the capital of the state, and was led by the Deputy Chairman, Hon. J. C. Okeke.
In a briefing to the press following the meeting, State Publicity Secretary Dr. Valentine Oliobi explained that the expulsion was in accordance with Article 21, Subsection 5 of the APC Constitution.
