Nigerian celebrities have once again raised alarm over the worsening insecurity across the country, with singer Paul Okoye leading a wave of emotional reactions alongside comedian Mr Macaroni and actor Kunle Remi.
The outcry follows a deadly attack in Jos, Plateau State, which reportedly left dozens dead and has since sparked nationwide outrage and grief.
Rudeboy, who was born in Jos, expressed deep frustration over the situation, saying Nigerians are not angry enough about the continuous violence and loss of lives. In a strongly worded post, he suggested that the level of public outrage is still not enough to drive meaningful change.
Adding his voice, Mr Macaroni condemned the federal government, describing the administration as incompetent and irresponsible. He questioned the lack of official response from the President despite the scale of recent tragedies, arguing that Nigerians are waking up daily to repeated heartbreak without accountability.
Similarly, Kunle Remi took a more provocative approach, urging Nigerians to use images of victims of insecurity when sending birthday wishes to political leaders, including President Bola Tinubu. His message was a symbolic call for leaders to be confronted with the realities citizens are facing.
The trio’s statements have since sparked massive debate online, with many Nigerians agreeing with their frustration, while others called for calmer approaches to civic expression.
As insecurity continues to dominate national conversations, the voices of these celebrities add to growing pressure on authorities to take urgent and effective action.
For many citizens, their comments reflect a shared sentiment — that the country’s pain has become too frequent, and public anger is no longer strong enough to force change.
