Laide Bakare Sets Dating Rules: “No Man Can Come to My House Until We’re Married”

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has revealed her strict personal rules regarding relationships. Speaking with colleague Ayo Adesanya, she stated that any man she is seeing is not allowed in her house until they are married.

Laide emphasized that love isn’t her priority in a relationship; instead, she focuses on liking, appreciating, and respecting her partner. She added that a man should be responsible and pay her bride price before entering her home:

“No man can come to my house until we are married. I don’t love o, let’s leave love aside. I like, I appreciate and respect, but I don’t like love… He should come and carry me to his house. How can you be coming to my house and not putting a ring on it?”

The actress has been married twice. Her first marriage to American businessman Olumide Okufulure produced a daughter, Simi, but ended in divorce. Her second marriage in 2012 to Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo produced two sons but ended after he was declared wanted by the EFCC over alleged fraud.

Despite her past, Laide has been sharing public moments of friendship and closeness with actor Odobodobo Motolani, including Christmas celebrations and matching outfits. She stressed that public opinion shouldn’t dictate her choices, and clarified that she remains husbandless, insisting the man in her recent videos is just a colleague.
