
Nigerian music star Asake has further cemented his dominance on the global Afrobeats scene, extending his record as the artiste with the highest number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
The Mr Money crooner reached a historic milestone of 60 chart entries this week, thanks to his collaborative hit with Wizkid, titled “Jogodo,” which peaked at number four on the chart.
Asake’s achievement reinforces his status as one of the most commercially successful Afrobeats artistes in recent years, with multiple songs consistently charting since his breakout in 2022.
Meanwhile, South African singer Tyla continues her stronghold at the top of the chart, as her song “Channel” maintained its number one position this week. Tyla was recently named the Top Afrobeats Artiste of 2025, following a remarkable run that includes her global smash hit “Water.” The song previously set a record as the longest-running number-one track on the Afrobeats chart, spending 55 weeks at the top.
In related chart news, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy achieved another milestone, earning his first top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100. His feature on Gunna’s track “WGFT” climbed to a new peak of number 16, boosted by a remix featuring Chris Brown.
With the feat, Burna Boy has become the first African artiste to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 in five consecutive years (2021–2025), further highlighting the growing global impact of African music.
