But here’s where it gets real…

The actor revealed that in today’s industry, anyone working with the production company must have a side hustle to stay afloat. He explained that acting gigs are no longer consistent, with long gaps between shoots—sometimes stretching up to two years.

Pa James also shared how things have evolved financially. From earning as low as ₦2,500 per episode in the early days, his pay has now increased to about ₦45,000 per episode—but with limited episodes yearly, it’s not always enough to rely on alone.

He further disclosed that while he can feature in other productions, he cannot use the name “Pa James” outside Adenuga’s brand, as it is officially trademarked.

Despite the realities, Pa James remains grateful, crediting the platform for changing his life—including helping him afford his first car.

The revelation has sparked debate online, with many discussing the financial realities of Nollywood and the importance of multiple income streams for actors.
