Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has opened up about the death of his close friend and colleague, Allwell Ademola, describing her passing as simply “her time.”

Speaking on Oyinmomo TV, Rotimi explained that cardiac arrest can affect anyone, no matter how careful they are with their health. He noted that while many knew Allwell had asthma, she was always vigilant about her wellbeing.

“I believe it was just her time. It’s simple – cardiac arrest can happen to anyone. Most people know she’s asthmatic, but she doesn’t joker with her health,” he said.

Rotimi, who considered Allwell his best friend, recalled how she had been a constant presence in his life. For five consecutive years, they had welcomed the New Year together, praying and making wishes, a tradition that heartbreakingly ended this year.

Following her death, confirmed on December 27th, Allwell was mourned by colleagues like Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko. A Service of Songs and Candlelight service was held on January 8th, followed by her burial on January 9th.

Despite his grief, Rotimi expressed gratitude for the support of family, friends, and fans, emphasizing how their presence helped him cope with the loss. Sharing photos and videos of memories with Allwell, he admitted the pain of having only memories and recordings left behind but vowed to move on with the support of those around him.

Rotimi’s heartfelt statements highlight the fragile nature of life and serve as a poignant reminder of the love and bonds within Nollywood.
