A 26-year-old newlywed, @Idarabasimi, has left social media users divided after revealing that her husband allegedly lied about his age before their marriage.
The woman shared that she got married in December to a man who consistently claimed he was 34 years old. However, her world crumbled when she recently discovered his international passport, showing he was actually born in 1972 — making him 51 years old.
“I have been crying since I stumbled on this. When I confronted him, he said age is just a number and that he didn’t know he was up to 51 years old. Can you imagine?”
The revelation has left her regretful, particularly since she had previously turned down a 37-year-old suitor, only to end up marrying a man who allegedly deceived her. She lamented the decade gap, noting that in ten years, her husband would be in his sixties while she would still be in her thirties.
“I rejected a 37-year-old man, 51-year-old man deceived me and married me. Will I ever forget this? Should I go for a divorce? I never planned for this type of life. Not that he is rich, I only married him to build with him.”
The post has sparked discussions online, with users debating honesty in relationships, age gaps, and whether the woman should forgive or reconsider the marriage.
