The Ahmadu Fintiri has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fintiri announced the move during a statewide broadcast on Friday, stating that he, his entire cabinet, and all PDP officials in the state are now joining the APC.
He explained that the decision was taken in the developmental interest of Adamawa State’s people, suggesting a focus on governance and progress under the ruling party’s platform.
This comes after similar defections by other governors, including Taraba State’s Agbu Kefa and the governors of Kano and Plateau States, Abba Yusuf and Caleb Muftwang, who also recently joined the APC.
Further details about the political realignments and its implications are expected to emerge in the coming days.
