Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara has just made a major move in his administration, appointing fresh faces to key positions.
In a statement released Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, Dr Dagogo S.A. Wokoma has been named the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), while Barrister Sunny Ewule takes over as Chief of Staff (CoS). Both appointments take effect immediately.
The shake-up comes after Governor Fubara relieved former aides, including Edison Ehie (ex-CoS) and Dr Benibo Anabraba (ex-SSG), following political tensions in the state and the Abuja “peace deal.”
According to the statement, the duo is set to be sworn in at 2:00 pm today at the Exco Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt, marking the official start of their duties.
This strategic reshuffle signals Governor Fubara’s intent to consolidate his team and stabilize his administration after recent political turbulence. Rivers insiders will be watching closely to see how the new SSG and CoS steer governance in the state.
