Nigerian billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya has set the internet buzzing after making a jaw-dropping statement about his children.
In a recent interview on Arise TV, the 79-year-old business mogul didn’t mince words as he openly declared that he is grooming his children with Shade Okoya to fully take over his empire — and he made it clear he doesn’t want them to “fail like their senior ones.”
Yes, you read that right.
👀 “They Hold The Future”

Okoya revealed he’s intentionally keeping Shade’s children very close to him, mentoring them personally in business, discipline, and practical skills. According to him, experience is everything.
He stressed that beyond book knowledge, he’s teaching them focus, honesty, punctuality, and determination — qualities he believes are non-negotiable in sustaining wealth.
One of his daughters is currently schooling in Europe, but don’t get it twisted — Papa still flies her back home regularly to Nigeria to understand how the factory runs. For him, foreign exposure is good, but local understanding is better.
“We already built everything. They will build on it,” he implied confidently.

In the same interview, Okoya showered heavy praise on his wife, crediting her for consolidating and stabilizing his empire. According to him, she practically runs operations at Eleganza Group, arriving at the factory as early as 7am and leaving by 7pm.
He described her as the glue holding everything together — from business management to maintaining their luxurious home.
The billionaire made one thing very clear:
He will never take his company public. The empire is staying strictly in the family.
26 Children, 9 Babymamas — A Dynasty Like No Other

The Okoya dynasty is massive. One of his sons once revealed that the billionaire has 26 children with 9 different women. He himself is reportedly the 23rd child, while the firstborn is said to be around 60 years old.
Now, that’s generational wealth on another level.
🧐 Family Drama & Past Controversies
The family has had its fair share of public attention. In 2024, two of Okoya’s sons were invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after a viral video showed them spraying Naira notes — an act that violates Nigeria’s currency laws.
Despite the controversy, the family later shared moments celebrating Eid with President Bola Tinubu, showing they remain socially and politically connected.

The Big Question
Was this tough-love motivation from a billionaire father…
Or subtle shade thrown at his older children?
One thing is certain:
Chief Okoya is not playing when it comes to legacy.
At 79, he’s thinking dynasty, structure, and control — and he’s making sure the next generation doesn’t drop the ball.
