Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has finally addressed the trending old video of herself calling Tonto Dikeh her family—years after the clip first surfaced.
In a recent Instagram post, Rosy insisted she didn’t know Tonto while her husband, Olakunle Churchill, was married to the actress. She said Churchill was like a brother to her and helped her family long before they got married.
Social media users, however, dug up an old clip where Rosy seemed friendly with Tonto’s family. Reacting, she explained:
“I was young and innocent, dragged into something that didn’t concern me. The media pressure made me say things I didn’t fully understand. Now I’m older, wiser, and no one can intimidate me. No PR team can dictate my truth.”
Rosy made it clear she knew about Churchill’s reunion with his son before it hit the internet and fully supported it.
“Whatever I say now is the real truth. My husband, who was like a brother to me then, had to apologise to my family because I knew nothing. I waited for him to marry before he entered my eyes. If you don’t know a story, shhhh.”
The actress married Churchill after his split from Tonto Dikeh, which lasted from 2015 to 2017. Tonto had cited domestic violence and irreconcilable differences, allegations Churchill denied. In 2022, he issued a cease-and-desist letter over false claims Tonto made about him and Rosy, including labeling Rosy a “husband snatcher.”
Rosy’s statement marks her strongest response yet, shutting down trolls and reclaiming her narrative.
