“I’m Hungry… I Can’t Even Pay My Hotel Bills” – Gospel Star Busola Oke Breaks Down Over Shocking Money Crisis

Tears. Pain. Silence. After going viral for an emotional TikTok breakdown, Nigerian gospel singer Busola Oke has finally opened up about the financial struggles pushing her to the edge.

In a raw interview with media personality Biola Bayo, the “Eleyele” crooner confessed she cried online because she was lonely, depressed, frustrated — and hungry. According to her, she kept her struggles hidden since 2020 out of fear of being mocked.

The heartbreaking details? She currently has no car, owes several people, and struggles daily to afford the N55,000 hotel room she stays in. The last time she owned a car was in 2020. At one point, she couldn’t pay her N1 million house rent and had difficulty feeding herself. Even more painful, she revealed that the money meant for food often goes toward Uber rides just to move around.

“I didn’t ask for help because that’s not who I am,” she explained, admitting that despite knowing many influential people, no one stepped in to assist. Now, she says she urgently needs shelter and even a modest car to stabilize her life.

Busola’s career once soared after her 2004 breakout hit Eleyele, which made her a household name across South-West Nigeria’s gospel scene. Over two decades, she released multiple projects blending Yoruba gospel with inspirational themes. But behind the music and applause, she says sustaining income in gospel music has been a heavy burden.

Her struggles also follow past controversies, including a public dispute with former collaborator Gbenga Adewusi, whom she accused of financial and personal misconduct — allegations he denied.

From sold-out praise sessions to hotel-room survival, Busola Oke’s story is a sobering reminder that fame doesn’t always equal fortune. Now, fans are rallying around her, hoping the industry that once celebrated her voice won’t abandon her in her hour of need.
