Labour Party in Chaos: Julius Abure and Faction Accused of Raid, LP Demands Immediate Arrest

The has called for the urgent arrest and prosecution of former National Chairman Julius Abure and members of his faction following a violent raid on the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Speaking at a press conference, the Nenadi Usman-led National Working Committee (NWC) accused Abure’s group of attacking the secretariat, threatening lives, destroying billboards, and stealing laptops, financial documents, and other sensitive materials.

The party said it has formally petitioned the , , and other security agencies to enforce the law, describing the incident as a criminal invasion and contempt of court.

“The operation lasted over 30 minutes, and posts made online the same night practically indicted themselves,” the LP leadership said, warning that such acts threaten constitutional democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria.

The NWC emphasized that Nigeria is a constitutional democracy, and no one can operate with impunity, reiterating their demand for lawful action against Abure and his co-travelers.
