Nollywood personality Mabel Makun, ex-wife of comedian Ayo Makun, shared a touching tribute to her late mother on her 40th birthday.
In a heartfelt Instagram video, Mabel and her daughters, all dressed in gold, honoured the woman who shaped her life. She revealed that she had planned a special photoshoot with her mother for her 70th birthday, a milestone they were eagerly anticipating—unfortunately, fate had other plans.
Reflecting on the quiet weight of grief, Mabel wrote:
“This particular grief doesn’t announce itself loudly; it just sits beside you on the biggest days of your life… In every breath, every smile, every step we took in front of the lens, she was there, and she is always here.”
She concluded her tribute with gratitude and hope:
“Happy 40th to me, and cheers to many more years in Jesus’ name!”
