Nigerian singer Skales has publicly criticized former Presidential aide Bashir Ahmad following comments Ahmad made about US missionary Alex Barbir.
Bashir had urged Nigerian security agencies to investigate and apprehend Alex Barbir, after the missionary posted a video criticizing President Bola Tinubu over the Palm Sunday attack in Jos, which reportedly killed at least 25 people. Bashir emphasized that Nigeria must remain firm against anyone attempting to incite chaos.
In response, Skales accused Bashir and the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari of contributing to the country’s security challenges, claiming that terrorist activities worsened during their tenure. He called out Bashir for prioritizing political loyalty over the welfare of Nigerians and criticized the lack of effective action against terrorism.
The incident has sparked debate online, with many discussing the role of former administrations in Nigeria’s ongoing security issues and the responsibilities of public figures when commenting on sensitive matters.
