A heartwarming Nollywood moment has captured the attention of fans as content creator Emmanuel Chinedum, popularly known as Mr Aloy, surprised veteran actor Nkem Owoh on a movie set.
In a video shared by actor Mike Ezurounye, Mr Aloy is seen honoring his idol with a golden palm wine bottle and cash, raining money on the veteran while expressing gratitude for the inspiration Owoh has given him. Mike described the moment as “greatness appreciating greatness, legacy celebrating legacy,” noting that such gestures are rare and historic in Nollywood.
Celebrating Icons, Spreading Joy

This isn’t the first time Mike Ezurounye has shared touching interactions on set. A month ago, he posted a clip of himself hugging actress Regina Daniels, calling her his “little princess.” Last year, a viral moment showed him tossing money at Toyin Abraham during her movie premiere while performing the popular “robo robi” dance, which he later clarified was purely celebratory and not to be overanalyzed.
The Bigger Picture in Nollywood

While celebrations like this uplift the industry, other Nollywood voices caution about challenges behind the scenes. Actor Nosa Rex urged a stand against cultism, saying talent—not favoritism—should define success. Yoruba actress Wumi Toriola highlighted the risks of godfatherism, revealing how certain gatekeepers block opportunities, create unnecessary hate, and even endanger lives in the industry.

Moments like Mr Aloy honoring Nkem Owoh remind fans of the power of respect and gratitude in Nollywood, showing that amidst controversies and struggles, admiration for legacy still thrives.
