What was supposed to be a quick romantic escape in Abuja has turned into a full-blown nightmare for a Nigerian man who allegedly lost his car, phones, and laptop to a woman he checked into a hotel with.
The incident reportedly happened on Thursday, February 5, at a hotel in Asokoro, where the man lodged with a lady identified as Precious Chinyere for a short stay.
According to the account, the evening took a shocking turn when the man realised Precious had quietly left the hotel room without a word. Moments later, panic set in as he discovered she didn’t just leave alone — she allegedly left with his car and several valuable personal items, including mobile phones and a laptop.
Stunned and confused, the man reportedly searched for her but to no avail. By the next morning, he headed straight to a police station in Abuja to report the incident.
Confirming the development, the FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the case is under investigation and that efforts are ongoing to track down the suspect and recover the stolen items.
The story has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians warning others to “shine their eyes”, especially during casual hotel meetups.
