Isaac Fayose has gone from quiet supporter to loud critic — and he’s not holding back.
The outspoken businessman and younger brother of ex-Ekiti governor Ayodele Fayose says his support for President Bola Tinubu’s government didn’t survive what he describes as power obsession, political desperation, and total disregard for everyday Nigerians.
According to Fayose, the turning point came when he realised the government’s energy is no longer on governance but on locking down 2027, even as insecurity worsens and innocent citizens continue to lose their lives.
“I supported them at first,” he said, “but once I saw that power and second-term ambition mattered more than people dying, I was done.”
He accused the ruling party of playing political chess with opposition parties, pointing to the wave of defections by governors and what he described as a calculated attempt to cripple the PDP.
To Fayose, this isn’t strategy — it’s greed.
He warned that Nigeria is slowly being dragged toward a one-party system, driven by leaders who care more about staying in office than fixing the country.
“Democracy survives on opposition,” he argued. “Once you crush it for personal gain, you’re not leading for the people — you’re leading for yourself.”
His comments have since stirred reactions online, with many Nigerians echoing his frustration and others accusing him of switching sides too late.
One thing’s clear: Isaac Fayose is no longer clapping — he’s calling it out. 💣
