Intel-led strike. Midnight clash. Terror camp thrown into chaos.
The Nigerian military has landed a major blow on Boko Haram/ISWAP operations in the North-East — and this one hit deep.
Troops under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully taken out a high-profile terrorist commander, sending shockwaves through insurgent ranks in Borno State.
According to military authorities, the dreaded commander known as Julaibib, a top ISWAP figure operating around the infamous Timbuktu Triangle, was k!lled during a fierce encounter near Kimba in Damboa Local Government Area on January 30, 2026.
The operation was the result of precise intelligence and sustained surveillance, with troops engaging the terrorists head-on after tracking their movements.
Military sources say Julaibib’s elimination has badly shaken ISWAP fighters in the area, disrupting their command structure and forcing many to flee. Several other terrorists were reportedly neutralised during the same operation, leaving the group disorganised and exposed.
But the pressure didn’t stop there.
In a related strike, troops working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) laid a calculated ambush between Ngazalgana and Lamusheri communities, acting on fresh intelligence. When the terrorists walked into the trap, they were met with heavy firepower — three were k!lled on the spot, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. Two AK-47 rifles were recovered.
Another clash followed a day earlier in Tsokorok, Gwoza LGA, where troops on ambush duty engaged fleeing insurgents, neutralising one terrorist and recovering two motorcycles — all without losing a single soldier.
Military officials described the operations as part of an ongoing campaign to deny terrorists freedom of movement, break their supply lines, and dismantle their leadership from the inside out.
For ISWAP, the message is clear:
The net is tightening — and the commanders are no longer safe. 🚨🔥
