“Double Wedding, One Big Day!” — Atiku Marries Off Two Children Same Day in Abuja

Power families unite, National Mosque turns celebration ground.

It was a day of double joy and heavy family ties as two children of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar got married on the same day in Abuja — and the venue was nothing short of grand.

The twin ceremonies took place on Friday at the National Mosque, Abuja, drawing in family members, close associates, and notable dignitaries who came to witness the rare double celebration.

Atiku’s daughter, Hafsat Atiku, was joined in marriage to Umar Farouk Imam, with respected elder statesman General Aliyu Gusau standing in to formally give her hand in marriage — a move that highlighted the long-standing bond between both families.

On the same day and at the same venue, Atiku’s son, Abubakar Atiku Jr, also said “I do” to Asma’u Abdul’aziz Nyako. The marriage was conducted by Alhaji Kwairanga Jada, another trusted family ally.

Taking to social media after the event, Atiku described the moment as deeply fulfilling, thanking everyone who showed up to support the family on what he called a truly special day.

He noted that the marriages go beyond romance, strengthening long-established family relationships — particularly with Admiral Murtala Nyako, his elder brother, and Kashim Ibrahim Imam, a close friend.

Overflowing with gratitude, the former vice president congratulated the couples and prayed for peace, love, and lasting happiness in their homes.

One day.
Two weddings.
And a powerful reminder that in Atiku’s house, celebration comes big or not at all.
