“Why Claim He’s Broke? He Has a Mercedes-Benz and a House” – Wale Adenuga Responds to Papa Ajasco Actor’s Financial Struggles

Following the viral interview of veteran actor Abiodun Ayoyinka revealing financial difficulties, the CEO of Wale Adenuga Productions has hit back with an official statement.

In the press release, Wale Adenuga praised Abiodun’s acting career but countered claims of financial hardship, noting that the actor owns five cars, including a Mercedes-Benz, and a house in Ogun State.

The statement explained that the iconic Papa Ajasco character is trademarked, which limits Abiodun from independently using the brand for endorsements or personal projects. This measure, Wale Adenuga said, protects the brand from misuse but does not prevent Abiodun from taking on other jobs or projects under his own name.

Wale Adenuga questioned why Abiodun was portraying himself as broke, pointing out his investments, retirement gratuities, and decades of service with the Lagos State Government. He also confirmed that the production house meets all financial obligations according to industry standards.

Adding fuel to the debate, actress Liz Da Silva expressed frustration over the trademark issue, suggesting that if Abiodun were “family,” the company would have handled it differently.
