Saudi Arabia has officially announced that Friday, March 20, 2026, will mark the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, following updates around the crescent moon sighting.
According to reports shared via official Haramain platforms, authorities confirmed the outcome of moon observations across key regions, including Dammam and Tabuk, which traditionally mark the beginning and end of the sighting process in the Kingdom.
Despite this declaration, attention has now shifted to Nigeria, where Muslims are eagerly waiting for the official announcement from the Sultan of Sokoto, who holds the authority to confirm the date locally.
As always, the final decision in Nigeria may align with or differ slightly from Saudi Arabia’s timeline, depending on verified moon sightings within the country.
With Ramadan drawing to a close, millions are now on standby—will Nigeria follow Friday, or shift the celebration?
