“APC Draws the Line!” Party Shuts Down Rumours of Shettima Being Dropped for 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has come out swinging, firmly rubbishing whispers that Vice President Kashim Shettima could be replaced as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a sharply worded statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party described the growing chatter as false, baseless, and deliberately misleading.

According to the APC, media speculation around the Vice President’s position has recently intensified, with names of so-called “possible replacements” making the rounds. The party, however, insists the entire narrative is nothing more than political gossip dressed up as news.

The statement warned media outlets against spreading what it called rumours from mischievous and questionable sources, stressing that there is zero truth to claims of any planned shake-up involving Shettima.

The APC also reminded Nigerians that a legal ban on political activities is still in place, making any discussion about the 2027 elections not only premature but irresponsible.

Instead of election talk, the party said its full attention remains on backing Tinubu and Shettima as they push forward the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially ongoing economic reforms aimed at stabilising the economy and improving citizens’ lives.

To avoid further drama, the party issued a subtle warning to ministers, senior officials, and party bigwigs, urging them to avoid careless comments that could fuel speculation and distract from governance.

Bottom line from APC headquarters: Shettima is not going anywhere — and 2027 talk is off the table. 🏛️🔥
