Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has fired back at the trend of body shaming women following cosmetic surgeries, especially in the wake of the tragic death of Elena Jessica.
In a heartfelt video, Nkechi called out men for the hypocrisy of pressuring women into procedures like BBLs (Brazilian Butt Lifts) and then criticizing them afterward.

“Now men are saying women should love themselves and that we’re beautiful the way we are. But the same men bully women, mock their bodies, and pressure them until they feel like the only option is to get a BBL. Then, when a woman finally does it, they turn around and shame her for it. Ladies, do whatever you think is right for your own body. It’s your choice, not theirs,” she stated.
Nkechi also clarified that if she ever considered surgery, it would strictly be for weight loss—not altering her shape.

Her remarks echo sentiments from other celebrities: actress Mary Njoku advocates for natural beauty and the development of personal skills over cosmetic enhancement. Media personality Daddy Freeze compared BBLs to a risky endeavor with little to gain, while veteran actor Kanayo Kanayo criticized the procedure as unprofitable in the long term, questioning why husbands don’t sponsor these surgeries instead.
Nkechi Blessing’s bold message sends a powerful reminder: women should make decisions about their bodies for themselves, not to meet society’s or men’s unrealistic standards.
