Supporters of former presidential candidate and NNPP leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, visited his Kano residence on Sunday in a show of solidarity following the defection of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf to the APC.
Kwankwaso shared the development on his official Facebook page, noting that the supporters came from Nasarawa Local Government Area. He expressed gratitude for their steadfast support during what he described as a challenging period.
“This afternoon, I was honoured to receive a solidarity visit at my residence in Kano from the resilient people of Nasarawa Local Government. Despite recent trials, they have chosen to stand firmly with us—not for personal gain, but for the collective progress and wellbeing of our people,” Kwankwaso said.
The former governor reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of Kwankwasiyya, thanking the supporters for their loyalty and emphasizing that the journey continues with faith in God and the will of the people.
The visit comes after Governor Yusuf’s departure from NNPP to the ruling APC, a move Kwankwaso publicly criticized, declaring the day of the defection as ‘World Betrayal Day.’
