“I Didn’t Cook on the Street!” – Sarah Martins Fires Back at Tokunbo Wahab Over Viral Cooking Drama

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has broken her silence after being called out by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, over a viral video showing her cooking food for street children.

The video, which quickly spread across social media, sparked controversy after the commissioner criticised the act, suggesting it could encourage public nuisance and disorder on Lagos streets.

Sarah Martins Sets the Record Straight

Reacting strongly to the criticism, Sarah Martins explained that the meal preparation did not take place on the walkway or roadside as widely assumed.

According to her, the cooking was done in front of a King’s Palace and under the supervision of security personnel, far away from traffic or public obstruction.

She insisted the visit was purely emotional, saying the children in the area had been asking her to return and cook for them again.

“It was simply a heartfelt moment. I missed the bond I share with those kids who always show me genuine love,” she explained.

Apology Despite Clarification

Although she defended her actions, the actress still extended an apology to the Lagos government if the act was interpreted the wrong way.

She promised that moving forward, all feeding programs organised by her charity would strictly take place at the charity kitchen provided for her foundation.

Seyi Tinubu’s Support

Sarah Martins also acknowledged the support she previously received from Seyi Tinubu, who donated ₦20 million and a charity kitchen to support her foundation’s outreach to vulnerable children.

The facility was meant to ensure that her food programs are conducted in a more organised and controlled environment.

Past Controversy Still Fresh

This isn’t the first time the actress’ charity activities have sparked controversy. Last year, she alleged that officials from the Kick Against Indiscipline task force disrupted her cooking program and seized food meant for hundreds of street children, an incident she said left her emotionally hurt.

Online Reactions

Following the latest development, social media users remain divided. While some praise Sarah Martins for helping vulnerable kids, others argue that charity work should still follow state environmental rules.

For now, the debate continues online as many Nigerians weigh kindness versus compliance with public regulations. 🔥
