Former APC Aspirant Ogbonnia Joins ADC, Calls Tinubu an “Existential Threat”

SKC Ogbonnia, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing President Bola Tinubu as an “existential threat” to Nigeria and insisting he should not seek a second term in 2027.

Ogbonnia made the remarks on Thursday in Ugbo, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, shortly after registering as an ADC member in his ward.

He said his decision to join the ADC was motivated by a desire to provide Nigerians with a credible political platform capable of addressing what he called the failures of the APC.

“After looking around, going east, north, south, and west, I concluded that ADC is the way,” he said. “With ADC, we are going there to win—from Ward 9, Awgu, Greater Awgu, Enugu State, and at the centre.”

Ogbonnia added that his immediate focus is on building a strong opposition capable of producing credible candidates at all levels of government.

“This is a global movement, and it’s going to challenge those in the Lion Building. I have a very bad friend, and that is Tinubu, who must vacate the seat. It is going to be Tinubu against the masses of Nigeria,” he declared.

He criticised Tinubu’s leadership as among the worst in Nigeria’s history, calling a second term an “existential threat” and urging opposition forces to unite to prevent a national catastrophe.

Ogbonnia also pledged to strengthen the ADC by supporting the emergence of credible candidates in his ward, local government, senatorial district, and beyond.
