Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has revealed how her son, Jamil Balogun, met popular American YouTuber and live streamer IShowSpeed during his recent visit to Nigeria.
Tiwa disclosed that she was outside the country at the time of the meeting but stepped in after her son reached out for help.
Sharing a photo of Jamil with the streamer on social media, the singer also posted excerpts from their chat, showing her son’s excitement and repeated pleas for assistance while she was attending an event in Davos.
“Please, mommy, I know you can make me meet @IShowSpeed and I’m all the way in Davos,” Jamil wrote.
Reacting humorously, Tiwa described the process as stressful but rewarding. She went on to thank friends and event organisers who helped make the meeting possible, including Shank Comics, ManLikeScoop, Olakunbi O., Bizzle Osikoya, and Bold and Big Event.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is currently touring Africa as part of his Speed Does Africa tour, livestreaming his experiences across multiple countries.
His visit to Nigeria drew massive attention, with fans trailing him across markets, tourist locations, and food spots in Lagos.
While in the country, the 21-year-old streamer also celebrated his birthday and reaching 50 million subscribers on YouTube, milestones that added to the excitement surrounding his Nigerian stop.
The visit has since become one of the most talked-about moments of his African tour, both online and offline.
