President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of four ambassador-designates from the batch of 68 nominees earlier screened and confirmed by the Senate in December.
According to a statement released on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the postings form part of the administration’s ongoing diplomatic engagements.
Key Ambassadorial Appointments
The President confirmed Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s new ambassador to France.
He also approved the appointment of Colonel Lateef Are as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
For the United Kingdom, President Tinubu named Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian envoy to South Korea, as the new High Commissioner.
In addition, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, has been appointed Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Turkey.
Ahead of Turkey State Visit
The postings come ahead of President Tinubu’s planned state visit to Turkey next week, underscoring the strategic importance of Nigeria’s diplomatic relations with the country.
The President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to officially inform the governments of the affected countries in line with standard diplomatic protocols.
