Fresh drama has erupted as popular Nigerian cleric Chris Okafor has boldly taken back the public apology he once gave to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, sparking intense conversations across social media.
The founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry stunned many during a church address when he openly declared that the apology he issued in December 2025 no longer stands.
Speaking to his congregation in a now-viral video, the outspoken pastor explained that his earlier act of kneeling to apologize was never meant to admit guilt. According to him, the decision was taken only to prevent respected senior church leaders — whom he described as “fathers of faith” — from being dragged into the controversy surrounding the accusations.

Okafor clarified that he felt pressured at the time and simply wanted to protect those who stood by him during the heated allegations.
However, the cleric now insists the public misinterpreted his gesture, stressing that he has no connection to the claims made by the actress, which allegedly involve a secret relationship and a broken promise of marriage.
In a firm statement, he declared that he cannot apologise for something he neither did nor had any involvement in.
The pastor further insisted he has never met the actress face-to-face and therefore sees no reason to maintain the apology.
With the dispute already before the court, Okafor challenged anyone claiming to possess evidence to present it through the legal process.
