“He Was Nursing Something in His Body” – Prophet Speaks on Taiwo Adegbodu’s Passing

The gospel music community is mourning the loss of Yoruba gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu, popularly known as Taye Adegbodu, who passed away in the early hours of March 1, 2026, after weeks of battling a mysterious illness.

Prophet Segun Arole of Holy Holy Church, who spoke about the late singer’s health, urged the public to stop spreading false claims about his death.

“Taiwo Adegbodu’s death is a big loss to the music industry. Fake prophets should stop saying he was killed. He had something he was nursing in his body before his demise. Many singers are dealing with one health issue or another. Artists should always go for medical check-ups before hitting the stage,” he said.

Arole highlighted the physical toll of performing and stressed that artists should prioritise their health over chasing money:

“You use so much strength to sing. Everybody will die one day. Don’t just chase money; please take good care of your body. Taiwo was a very talented singer. If you don’t feel well, go straight to the hospital, not the church. May God rest his soul.”

The Adegbodu family has announced burial plans for the late singer, describing him as a fighter who “came, fought, conquered, and has now gone to be with the Most High.”
