The Nigerian gospel community is once again wrapped in grief as tributes pour in following reports of the passing of Taiwo Adegbodu.
According to circulating reports, the gospel singer — known to be one half of a twin — allegedly died in the middle of the night, leaving friends, colleagues, and fans heartbroken.
Among those visibly shaken is Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola, who took to Instagram to express his pain. In an emotional message, he described Taiwo as one of the greatest talents he had ever known, admitting that the news hit him hard and left him feeling weak.

He poured out heartfelt words, saying the loss deeply affected him and wishing the late singer a peaceful journey.
Other friends and supporters also shared emotional reactions online. Social media pages have since been flooded with condolence messages, prayers, and disbelief as many struggle to accept the sudden news.
This reported loss comes amid a series of painful moments within Nigeria’s gospel and Christian entertainment space.

Earlier this year, evangelist Bunmi Akinaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, reportedly passed away after battling illness. Before that, singer Aduke Gold was pronounced dead, with her family later raising concerns about alleged delays in treatment at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

In 2024, the Christian film community also mourned veteran actor Moses Korede, fondly called Baba Gbenro, while singer Dare Melody faced personal tragedy following the loss of his wife.
As of now, official details surrounding Taiwo Adegbodu’s reported passing remain limited, and many are urging the public to treat the news with sensitivity while awaiting confirmation from family or management.
For his colleagues like Muyiwa Ademola and countless fans, however, the pain is already real — and the silence left behind feels heavy.
