Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji has had enough — and he’s not keeping quiet.
Reacting to the shocking online drama involving social media personalities King Mitchy and VeryDarkMan, Damola publicly questioned what authorities are doing about viral content that appears to promote self-harm.
His outrage comes after Mitchy’s disturbing live sessions, where she reportedly consumed harmful substances on camera amid intense online bullying and controversy. The videos sparked panic, backlash, and heated debate across social platforms.
Damola didn’t mince words. According to him, this kind of content isn’t entertainment and should never be normalized — especially when children are active internet users. He stressed that allowing such behavior to trend sends the wrong message and could influence vulnerable viewers.
He isn’t alone in raising the alarm. Actor IK Ogbonna recently called for tighter social media regulation, warning that clout now overshadows substance. Actress Mary Njoku also expressed concern about the overwhelming noise and distractions dominating online spaces.
Meanwhile, confusion deepened when Mitchy’s management initially announced her passing, claiming medical efforts at a hospital in Abuja had failed. However, the hospital quickly released a disclaimer denying she was ever admitted there, promising to investigate the misinformation.
As the saga unfolds, one thing is clear: celebrities are now demanding accountability — not just from influencers chasing virality, but also from platforms and authorities meant to safeguard the public space.
If you or anyone you know is struggling emotionally, please seek professional help immediately. Online drama should never cost a real life.
