Nigerian disc jockey DJ Cuppy has revealed she wanted to join the viral TikTok ‘Holy Spirit’ trend – where participants interact with a bird representing the Holy Spirit – but simply couldn’t.
Sharing her reaction, she said:
“I want to, but I u just can’t.”
The trend has seen stars like Funke Akindele, Kiekie, Nkechi Blessing, Samuel Banks, and Mr Lively soar with the Holy Spirit bird.
Some, like Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, have struggled when the bird refused to fly.
Cuppy, who recently turned to God after a failed engagement to British boxer Anthony Joshua, has been deepening her spiritual journey alongside her younger sister Temi Otedola.
Both sisters were baptized in May, with their mother, Nana Otedola, blessing the event and encouraging them to walk closer with God.
The DJ has openly shared how her faith shapes her life: she once listed Jesus as her emergency contact, questioned God over admirers’ proposals, and trusted God’s guidance in her musical performances.
She credits her luxury lifestyle and privileges to divine providence and has expressed gratitude for the life she leads today.
While she sits out the Holy Spirit trend for now, Cuppy continues to inspire fans with her spiritual dedication and message of living purposefully.
