South African songstress Tyla has done it again! The rising star clinched the ‘Outstanding International Song’ award at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards, triumphing over top Nigerian heavyweights Davido, Burna Boy, and Tiwa Savage.
The NAACP Image Awards, which celebrate excellence by artists of colour across music, film, television, and literature, recognised Tyla’s exceptional talent, putting her ahead of Nigeria’s biggest music exports:

- Burna Boy – “Love”
- Davido – “With You” feat. Omah Lay
- Tiwa Savage – “You4Me”
Also in the mix was Jamaican singer Skip Marley for “In Our Sight”, but Tyla’s powerful performance claimed the crown.
This latest triumph follows her win at the 2026 Grammy Awards for ‘Best African Music Performance’, where she once again outshone Nigerian stars including Wizkid and Ayra Starr, as well as Ugandan sensation Eddy Kenzo.
Tyla’s meteoric rise continues a trend she started in 2024, when she took home her first Grammy, signaling that South Africa’s new queen of music is here to dominate both continentally and globally.

Her consecutive wins highlight a strong statement: Tyla is not just competing—she’s setting the pace for African music on the world stage.
