Kaduna Abduction: Police Still Sorting Victims’ Names As Helicopters Sweep Area

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that it is still compiling the identities of victims involved in the shocking mass abduction that rocked parts of Kaduna State, as investigations intensify.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that while the incident has been verified, authorities are still working to establish the exact number and names of those abducted.

“We are still collating names, but we already have an estimate,” Hundeyin said. “This is an investigation that is actively ongoing.”

He explained that the absence of surveillance infrastructure in the affected area has made the process more complex.

“This is not a location with CCTV cameras that can instantly tell us what happened. But the moment we have verified information, Nigerians will be updated,” he assured.

The police spokesman stressed that the situation is being treated with maximum urgency, disclosing that air surveillance has already commenced.

“Today alone, we deployed one of our helicopters for aerial monitoring. That should tell Nigerians how seriously we are taking this,” Hundeyin stated.

According to him, the Inspector-General of Police personally issued the directive for heightened response, while the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police has moved to the scene to oversee operations firsthand.

Security agencies have since flooded the area as efforts continue to track the perpetrators and secure the release of the victims.

Residents remain tense as families anxiously await clarity, while calls grow louder for improved security and surveillance in vulnerable communities.
